Just like a chef's knife, a paring knife—or two—is essential in every kitchen. A paring knife is used for all those small jobs that larger knives just can't do well. Often, you'll use a paring knife to work on a food item held in your hand, for example, when peeling an apple. Sometimes paring knives are used on a cutting board, for mincing garlic, for instance.
The Kershaw 9900 Series has two different sizes of paring knives. This one is our larger size, with a 3 3/4-inch blade. It's just right for working with larger foods—from peeling and coring to trimming and garnishing. The Kershaw Paring Knife is part of the Kershaw 9900 Series of kitchen cutlery.

The blade steel is Japanese AUS6A high-carbon stainless steel and is sharpened to a razor-sharp edge. The handles are co-polymer and provide a soft-yet-firm grip. The handle is exceptionally non-slip, even in a wet kitchen environment. While you can put these knives in the dishwasher, we recommend handwashing to maintain your knives—and keep the knives from harming anything else in your dishwasher. The Kershaw 9900 Series is NSF Certified for commercial kitchens.
